Frontline Records Rewind show airs on internet & analog radio stations and is available as download on iTunes and Frontline Records. Episodes include Christian music from the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s.
The first host of the show was Brian Healy, known as the father of Christian Goth and a pioneer of alternative music. Rewind Episode 33 introduced Les Carlsen, lead singer of the award- winning Frontline Records metal band, Bloodgood, as the new host. Les’ reality radio style is light, comedic and features rare conversations with artists and musicians. Also contributing to the program is Executive Producer, Adel Meisenheimer, Meis Music Group President and owner of the Frontline, KMG, and Damascus Road Records catalog.
The purpose of the program is for nostalgia, re-exploration and introduction with the artist and industry insiders who made it possible. It is entertainment for new and veteran listeners alike. Many episodes feature interview with the artists who give commentary about the music, background stories, and updates on their current activities.
Meis Music Group was founded by president, Adel Meisenheimer, music publishing and record label administration specialist since 1979.
When Meis Music Group purchased the publishing catalogs of Broken Songs, Carlotta Publishing and Damascus Road Music from the William D. “Buddy” Killen Estate it was a perfect fit. In 1998 Buddy contracted Adel to manage licensing and royalties for KMG Records and its publishing affiliates when he purchased Frontline Records. Things went well until 2002 when the distributor for KMG Records folded and the label went down with it. Sadly, Buddy passed away in November 2006. In 2010 Carolyn Killen, Executrix of the Estate, graciously sold the publishing and master recording catalogs of Frontline, KMG and Damascus Road Records to MMG.
Our mission is to extend the life of Christian Legacy music we represent and create opportunities for it to be used and enjoyed internationally. 2010 was the first year Frontline, KMG and Damascus Road Records master recordings were legally available digitally. We serve over 100 artist/writers, who recorded approximately 300 albums, in a wide variety of musical styles. Our songwriters have made a mark in the history of Christian music that is still positively impacting our world. Most were some of the earliest performers of rock, metal, ska, hip-hop, rap, alternative and electric dance styles in the contemporary Christian music scene.
These young radicals effectively communicated their faith in Jesus Christ, questioned society, challenged the Church, and had a blast doing it. As Christ- followers, they appreciated the fact that the opportunity to reach people and feed their souls was like a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away (James 4:14). So they wrote and performed with excellence in Spirit and Truth. And the universe benefited.
